An Easy and Healthy Pizza Recipe

Healthy Pizza RecipeThis is a really easy and healthy pizza recipe. Just about everyone loves a good pizza, but these days, when we need to be conscious of what we are putting into our bodies, any old fattening pizza just won't do. So we have developed this recipe for all of us who have to look after our figures.
Having been on the weight Watchers program ourselves, we are now offering ProPoints per serving on all our new recipes and eventually all our recipes will be covered by this service.

We've made it with wholemeal dough and have used shaved Parmesan instead of Mozzarella, fresh chopped tomatoes and lean cured ham.

Pam's Healthy Pizza Recipe Ingredients For Two Pizzas

Pam's Healthy Pizza
For the Wholemeal Dough

For the Topping

  • 1 Large beef tomato chopped
  • 75g./3ozs Cured ham (Jamon Serrano or Procuito di Parma) - no fat!
  • 50g./2ozs. Parmesan
  • 2 tsps. of capers
  • A good pinch of dried chilli
  • 2 tsps. lemon juice
  • 2 tsps. olive oil
  • 1 tsp. of dried oregano
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Method - Healthy Pizza Recipe

  1. OK - Roll out the dough into two two circular pieces, or  - we like to make one big rectangular one and share it out - up to you.
  2. Prick the pizza all over with a fork to avoid uneven rise.
  3. Add the lemon juice, oregano, chilli, salt and pepper to the chopped tomato and mash it all well together.
  4. Now spread the tomato mix onto your pizza.
  5. Tear the ham into bite sized pieces and place on top of the tomato mix.
  6. Sprinkle over the capers.
  7. Place in a pre-heated oven at 200ºc./400ºf. and bake for ten or fifteen minutes - until crispy and browning.
  8. Take the pizzas from the oven and finish with the olive oil, fresh rocket and shaved parmesan. (you can use a vegetable peeler to shave the parmesan.
