Butterscotch
Sauce Recipe
I first tasted this wonderful sticky butterscotch sauce recipe
at a chiringuito right on the Mediterranean near Almeria.
The owner told me
how to make it , and you will not believe how quick and easy it is.
It brought back childhood memories to me, of my mother's famous ice
cream and butterscotch sauce, always served after Sunday lunch at our
home in Yorkshire.
It's the golden, buttery, nutty, flavours that make us come back time
after time for more.
Go ahead - spoil yourself!
Ingredients
- 225g Brown Sugar.
- 140ml Double / Heavy Cream
- 75g Butter
- 1 Tbls. Golden Syrup

Method
- Put
the Cream,
Sugar and Butter into a small pan.
- Stir
over a
medium heat until the sugar has completely melted.
- Add the Golden
Syrup and bring to the boil for a minute.
- Serve
hot or
cold.
This sauce keeps well in the fridge in a lidded container, and can be a
great quick and easy dessert served poured over our meringue recipe
or
vanilla
ice cream recipe ...or a combination of both.
